Tomorrow - It's Last May All Over Again, Almost

Let me not exaggerate. Yes, just like last year, my new principal has called a meeting during May in order to discuss my absences and latenesses.

Tomorrow, however, I will know not to trust a word she says. I will also be able to point to my dramatic improvement in attendance in the months following a similar meeting which she called last semester.

Last year, on the other hand, my longtime principal had just retired in January, and the AP was promoted to principal. With the former principal, due to a health condition, I had permission to work at home on paperwork projects for the first 2 periods of the day, and I was scheduled accordingly. The AP, now principal, knew this. Once she became principal, she chose to reject the accommodation, which was informal, and did not tell me directly. Thus, she started marking me late without my knowledge. Latenesses add up into absences.

The May meeting was my first alert to my danger of an Unsatisfactory rating. I was given no time to improve and she would not speak with my doctor until school let out for summer and she had already awarded me the U.

More and detail to come.
